“I urge you therefore, brothers, by Gods mercy, present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God. This is your reasonable service” – Romans 12:1

Here in the land of the free and homeof the brave, we have a date circled on our yearly calenders that makes us cringe. April 15th. Tax Day. Most of the time there is a frantic rush to complete the forms that should have been completed much earlier and were put off. We spend countless hours looking for opportunities to write things off, worry ourselves sick about the possibility of an audit and as a general rule, we pull what remaining hair we have out (ever noticed the inordinate amount of bald accountants? Just wandering).

On this date we are completely consumed with finding out and paying up what we owe to the government, and rightfully so…remember Jesus’ words on the subject, “Render unto Caesar what is Caesars…”(Matt 22:21). However at the same time, we should also meditate on what we owe God (finishing the verse…”and unto God what is Gods”)!

Just what DO we owe God? What is His? – simple. EVERYTHING.

Because we belong to God…He has every right to expect that we render certain things to Him. We’re oblidged to even “present our bodies and living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to the Lord“. Thats right, our lives, our ambitions, our physical bodies…our everything…we give to Him.

Before you cry foul, consider what He has done for you and you’ll find yourself agreeing with the Apostle…”for this is your reasonable service”

Think On This

*During this fast, has God made you aware of any areas of your life that you have on lockdown, unwilling to release to Him? If so, release them today and watch Him blow your mind

Soli Deo Gloria! – Pastor Kyle
