I keep the Lord in mind always. Because He is at my right hand, I will not be shaken- Psalm 16:8

Those of you who know me well know that I am a fanatic when it comes to my Atlanta Braves. I loved them when they stunk, when they were good and now as well (somewhere between stinky and World Series Champs).

I love them! Yet, I’d bet you couldnt guess my favorite player! No, not Chipper or Brian McCann. No superstar at all.

My favorite player is Martin Prado.

Prado is a utilty player. An all-star nonetheless but a simple utility player. You’ll not see hs highlights night after night on ESPN or hear hs speech at Cooperstown years from now as he’s inducted to the Hall of Fame. No, just a utilty player.

Why is a utility guy my favorite?

He does whats needed. Prado does the little things like moving to left field as opposed to infield (where he’s always  played) because the team needed him. He puts aside personal gain for the betterment of the team. Thats golden.

Team players like Prado who see what the need is and meet it are invaluable. He always keeps the team in mind.

During the remander of this fast, evaluate your service to the King and his “Team”.

What are you bringing to the table?

Soli Deo Gloria! – Pastor Kyle
