Now to Him who is able to do above and beyond all that we ask or think according to the power that works in us— to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen – Ephesians 3:20-21
congratulations! You have made it through the 21 Day Daniel Fast…and what a fast it has been!
We have witnessed the power of God in these past 21 days as prayers have been answered, blessings have fallen from Heaven, marriages strengthened, discernment/prayerlife/study/on &on sharpened! The blessing are to numerous to list here ( you should brag on God and what He’s done elsewhere though!).
It’s been hard. It’s been trying and even painful at times…but it’s been a great 21 days.
Now, a parting thought. It’s NOT over.
What I mean is, the practice/discipline of fasting once foreign to you, can now be one of your closest friends. You’ve seen (some for the first time) the benefits, both spiritual and physical of fasting and have a better understanding of why Jesus Himself fasted and expected His followers to do the same. I want to encourage you to make fasting part of your spiritual discipline.
Now, I’m not saying begin each month with a Daniel fast, or spend the next 40 days in the wilderness but be mindful of fasting always. Big prayer need? Remember fasting. Heartache and pain? Remember fasting. Trouble hearing from God? Fasting. Church need revived? FAST! Maybe once a week, fast from a meal and substitute that time with prayer. Just don’t forget this much-needed discipline!
Though this particular fast has ended, I pray your journey in fasting has only begun.
I love you all and Soli Deo Gloria! – Pastor Kyle
